HANS KOTTER

Hans Kotter, born in 1966 in Mühldorf am Inn, Bavaria, Germany, is a contemporary artist renowned for his innovative work with light and perception. His installations manipulate light and reflections to create immersive environments, challenging the boundaries between physical and virtual spaces. Often described as the "architect of luminal reality," Kotter's pieces fragment and reassemble light into ethereal sculptures that play with perception and spatial experience.

After studying at the Art Students League of New York from 1993 to 1994, Kotter furthered his education at the Media Design Academy in Munich between 2001 and 2003.

His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions worldwide, including "Ξὑλͻgяάφ: The Post-Human Condition," at Galerie Sara Lily Perez where he, alongside artists like Ralf Baecker, Robert Henke, and Christoph Bauer, explored themes of technology, cybernetics, and post-human philosophy. Through his mastery of luminescence, Kotter crafts visual experiences that question how light shapes our understanding of reality.
