ABOUT THE ARTIST

As a result of his ice hockey experience, Johannes was constantly part of a collective movement. It was a release from never having a true home or viewpoint other than group thinking. When he was 18 he discovered his affinity for painting. For the first time in years he found a place where he could grow and develop freely and independently after learning about art as a medium of intellectual freedom.

When he came to Halle, his desire to test limits grew stronger. He built a philosophy of self-expression that is expanding each day. 

By the end of 2018, Johannes had accomplished the subsequent significant steps in the development of his unique painting technique. He began working with 12 mm MDF wood panels. Johannes combines abstract creation, deconstruction, and realistic painting with his passion for photography to create his paintings on acrylic wood panels.
