Rein Vollenga is born in 1979 in Geldrop, The Netherlands, Vollenga is a Dutch artist living and working in Berlin.

He attended the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Den Bosch. His artworks defy easy categorization, blending elements of sculpture and performance, drawing inspiration from both art history and pop culture. These pieces consist of assemblages of found objects, each one being unique with a polished, high-gloss lacquer finish. Within the works, you can detect subtle influences from decorative and tribal art, gothic and science fiction themes, and even elements with fetishistic undertones.
